a.r.i.s.e. pledge

Every child deserves a great public education regardless of where they live. When parents, school leaders, and educators partner to understand the unique needs of their students, children can learn and thrive in school and beyond. To support positive student outcomes in schools, educators and school leaders need our trust to develop and implement approaches that build on students’ strengths and address every student’s learning needs in the classroom. The A.R.I.S.E. pledge is a part of our Atlanta Reimagining & Innovating for Schools Everywhere Fellowship (A.R.I.S.E.), a nine-month initiative that aims to grow community power and influence by exploring the levers that drive systemic change for all of Atlanta’s children.

Join us in pledging to support children, families, educators and school leaders.

Why Take the A.R.I.S.E. Pledge?

You believe solutions to improve public education already exist within our communities experiencing inequities in public education.
Every student in Atlanta needs access to a great K-12 public education. We convene with communities to listen, learn, and advocate to ensure families have options. By taking the A.R.I.S.E. Pledge, you'll join a growing collective of parents, educators, community leaders and philanthropists dedicated to transforming Atlanta into a place where every student in every community has opportunity, well-being and self-determination.
You believe students, parents, grandparents, caregivers and educators should have leaders that represent and respond to their needs.
Annually, we activate a fellowship program to drive voter education and mobilization among parents and caregivers in local public schools. We work to support every eligible voter making their voice heard on Election Days and you'll help ensure school board elections aren't overshadowed.
You share our belief that family and community engagement is one key to supporting great K-12 schools.
In 2022, we're in our listening phase to develop a resource to aid students, parents, grandparents, caregivers and community members with school engagement and advocacy. We'll share opportunities to provide feedback, in an upcoming listening session or through an online survey, on the Atlanta Schools Data Project before the official launch.

You believe solutions to improve public education already exist within our communities experiencing inequities in public education.
In 2022, we're investing up to $200,000 to pilot community-driven solutions for public education. In partnership with local community members, A.R.I.S.E. fellows will work together to set grant requirements, generate a request for proposals (R.F.P.), and distribute grant funds. We'll share the participatory grantmaking journey and grant announcement and encourage you to join us in spreading the word to support a broad applicant pool.
