Atlanta Reimagining & Innovating for Schools Everywhere (A.R.I.S.E.) is a nine-month fellowship that aims to grow community power and influence by exploring the levers that drive systemic change for all of Atlanta’s children. Through this fellowship, participants will learn about the history of the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) district, explore student achievement trends and identify opportunities to partner with communities to grant funds towards community-driven solutions. Ultimately, graduates of this program will be able to clearly articulate their commitment, goals and role in advocating for positive change in K-12 public education.
The A.R.I.S.E. fellowship was co-designed in collaboration with EdConnect, TeachX, Father’s Incorporated, Goodie Nation and Next Generation Men and Women.
In March 2022, we launched the Atlanta Reimagining and Innovating for Schools Everywhere (A.R.I.S.E.) Fellowship. Fellows were selected from each of Atlanta Public Schools’ nine Clusters and engaged in a nine-month fellowship designed to grow informed and active public education advocates. The culminating event featured Courtney D. English, Frederick Douglass High School alum and Senior Advisor to the Mayor of the City of Atlanta.
Congratulations to the inaugural A.R.I.S.E. alums and the nine grantee organizations: Agape Youth and Family Center, Carrie Steele Pitts Home, Create Your Dreams, Everybody Wins Atlanta, Leap Year, PAWKids, Raising Expectations, The Idea Farm, and The Study Hall.
