what we do

Our Pursuit for Equitable Education

Race, inequity, and exclusion are central to the current challenges with working towards equitable education. Public schools and the public education system, need a deep commitment to race, equity, and inclusion (REI). These are central to redefinED atlanta’s ability to have an impact and are core to all aspects of our work. REI serves as the guide for our actions and activity.

redefinED atlanta focuses its work on three key areas to build and sustain community power and influence among those most impacted by the inequities in education and propel our impact. Our areas of focus are engaging the community, advocating for equitable education, and funding critical work.

our areas of focus

redefinED atlanta focuses its work in three key areas to build and sustain community power and influence among those most impacted by the inequities in education and propel our impact.

engage community

Engaging students, families, grassroots, and grasstops leaders involves building relationships and coalitions to support community-identified needs, including education, housing, transportation, and economic mobility.

advocate for equitable education

There are a host of policy and practice barriers that prevent transformation in the district. Building effective advocacy strategies and infrastructure are critical to serving students and families in Atlanta.

fund critical work

We invest in empowering parents and communities, cultivating strong school talent, developing great schools, and an equitable system. We believe funding this work will make Atlanta a place where every student in every community receives a great K-12 public education.
