Introduction:

redefinED atlanta, a leading education-focused nonprofit organization in Atlanta, Ga., seeks proposals from qualified social media contractors or consultants to manage and enhance our social media presence. We leverage social media platforms effectively to raise awareness about our educational initiatives, engage with our target audiences, and drive meaningful actions supporting our mission.

About Us:

Established in 2016, redefinED atlanta’s vision is to transform Atlanta into a place where every student in every community receives a great K-12 public education. We accomplish this work by engaging communities, advocating for equity, and funding critical work to drive systemic level improvement in K-12 public education for students and families. In the first five years of our programmatic work, we issued over $20M in grants to create equitable public schools and systems, grow strong school-level talent, and support parent and grassroot stakeholder voice in Atlanta.

Now in our eighth year of operation, with a solid foundation of our work within the city of Atlanta,  deep funding partnerships, a diverse and engaged board, and an entrepreneurial team, redefinED is charting the course for the years ahead as we explore how to bring our approach to other metro Atlanta communities.

Scope of Work:

The selected social media contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Developing a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with our organizational goals and target audience.
  2. Creating and curating engaging weekly content for our social media platforms (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  3. Creating graphics for social media and other assets but not limited to (e.g., case studies, white papers, one-pagers or fact sheets, etc.). 
  4. Managing day-to-day activities on social media channels, including posting updates, reposting relevant third-party content, responding to comments/messages, and monitoring trends.
  5. Implementing paid social media advertising campaigns to reach specific demographics and maximize campaign effectiveness.
  6. Monitoring social media analytics and providing regular montly reports with insights and recommendations for optimization.
  7. Collaborating with our internal team through a bi-weekly editorial meeting to ensure alignment with overall marketing and communications strategies.
  8. Staying informed about emerging trends, tools, and best practices in social media marketing and education advocacy.


Proposal Requirements:

Interested contractors are requested to submit proposals addressing the following key points:

  1. Overview of your company/agency, including relevant experience in social media marketing, particularly within the nonprofit or education sector.
  2. Description of your approach to developing a social media strategy tailored to nonprofit organizations.
  3. Examples of past social media campaigns and success stories, including metrics demonstrating engagement and impact.
  4. Details of your team members who will be involved in this project, along with their qualifications and roles.
  5. Proposed timeline for strategy development, implementation, and reporting.
  6. Budget breakdown, including any fees, and other relevant expenses.


Evaluation Criteria:

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  1. Experience and expertise in social media marketing, particularly in the nonprofit or education sector.
  2. Creativity and innovation demonstrated in past campaigns.
  3. Alignment of proposed strategy with our organizational goals and target audience.
  4. Ability to provide measurable results and insights through analytics.
  5. Any additional insights or suggestions you may have for optimizing our social media presence.
  6. Budget considerations and value proposition.

Philosophical and cultural fit with our organization, prior experience with our needs, and availability will drive the selection process. Additionally, redefinED atlanta prioritizes business with vendors that demonstrate a commitment to racial equity in their business practices, proposal, and approach to work.

Important Dates:

March 21, 2024: RFP Release Date.

  • Note that proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and interviews may begin before the submission deadline.

April 12, 2024: Proposal Submission Deadline

*Note: During the interview process, we will request at least two client references (including contact information and a brief description of your work with them) for whom you’ve completed similar work. We prefer references from nonprofit clients when available.

May 3, 2024: Anticipated Contract Award Date

May 15, 2024: Start Date / Kick-Off Meeting
