Our commitment: To expand access to high-quality public school options by investing in leaders, schools, and systems that are working to ensure every student has a fair shot at success.
Great teachers and strong school leaders form the foundation of a high-quality K–12 public education. RedefinED Atlanta expands access to excellent schools by equipping local leaders and partners to ensure students furthest from opportunity have a fair shot at success.
Investment Areas and Initiatives
Instructional Excellence
We ensure that schools and systems have the data, feedback, and support needed to improve teaching and learning.
Instructional Culture Insight Survey
We’re using the Insight Survey, in partnership with TNTP, to assess instructional culture and support leaders in improving teacher retention and student outcomes across 88 schools in Atlanta and Clayton County.
Data-Driven Instruction
We’re partnering with ANet to bring Georgia Milestones-aligned reading and math benchmarks to grades 3–8,
helping schools in our portfolio improve instruction and saving $25K per campus.
Educator Pipeline
We build durable, effective pathways into the profession and provide strong development opportunities along the way.
Teacher Certification
We are working, in partnership with Relay Graduate School of Education and TFA Metro Atlanta, to develop a top-tier certification program preparing 150 teachers annually to deliver rigorous instruction and ensure all students access high-quality teaching.
Mid-Level Talent
We continue to support the Academic School Leader Fellowship, a 10-month development program that builds leadership capacity and strengthens school communities.
Systems-Level Solutions
We support efforts that build equity and excellence in schools and school systems; our work breaks down systemic barriers so you can focus on success for every student.
Special Education Ecosystem Analysis
Expanding School Options
We support charter and innovation schools at every stage of growth, from vision to replication, because school access and quality go hand in hand.
Academy for Innovation in Medicine (AIM)
We’re supporting the launch of AIM, a proposed public charter school in partnership with Grady Health System. AIM will serve 850 students in grades 6–12 and provide direct pathways to healthcare careers through rigorous academics, dual-enrollment college credits, and hands-on work-based learning.
Tapestry Public Charter School
Tapestry Public Charter School is expanding to Clayton County with a new 300-seat campus approved to open in 2026. Tapestry’s inclusive, student-centered model has a long and proven track record of supporting both neurodivergent and neurotypical students.
DC360
We support innovative place-based solutions. Through DC360, we’re partnering with communities and cross-sector stakeholders to co-design and advance strategies that will improve conditions for youth and families in the Douglass Cluster of APS.
