Transparency & Accountability

  • The CCPS Foundation, a philanthropic organization that awards grants and scholarships to CCPS and students, reported over $1.2M in revenue to date in 2025. Last school year, the Foundation invested $442,000 in the district. Board members raised questions about the clarity of CCPS Foundation investments, emphasizing the need for increased transparency, strong stewardship of funds, and increased oversight of the Foundation’s new executive director search. Looking ahead, the Foundation will prioritize funding literacy and STEM initiatives, and deeper engagement with students and faculty through focus groups.
  • The CCPS Foundation also provided updates on the $117M Convocation Center project they manage in collaboration with CCPS and local government. The venue is expected to open in January 2026 and will host graduations, job fairs, conferences, and a Junior Achievement learning center. Community engagement efforts, including construction site tours and information sessions, are ongoing.

⚖️Equity

  • The CCPS 4-year high school graduation rate continues to trend upward, reaching 86.3% this year—a 3.3% increase from 2024 and nearly matching the state average of 87.2%. Notably, CCPS students outperformed the state in several key subgroups, including Black, Hispanic, English language learners, and economically disadvantaged students. However, three high schools (Jonesboro, Mundy’s Mill, and Riverdale) experienced declines in graduation rates, prompting questions from the Board around how the district will address this. District leaders plan to examine data more closely to determine the root cause of the declining rates and implement targeted interventions to ensure all students are supported. Review the district presentation on graduation rates here.

🏫 School Options & Access

  • CCPS’ magnet program application window for the 2026-2027 school year is open from November 1, 2025 – December 1 2025. The district is hosting an application assistance day and school choice fair on November 1 from 9:00AM to 1:00PM at Stillwell School of the Arts.
